The Choiceland Library Located at 116 1st Street East in Choiceland is part of the Wapiti Regional Library system. Open Tues, Wed & Thursday the Library provides the community access to many media resources such as books,movies, crafts,  e-books and so much more

The Choiceland Public Library formally integrated into the provincial public library network in 1958, providing essential literacy and educational resources to its small, forest-fringe agricultural community.

Early Foundations (1950s)

• Regional Integration: Choiceland created and housed its new regional library branch in 1958.

• Provincial Backdrop: This development aligned with Saskatchewan’s post-war movement to expand library services to rural areas. Rural communities previously relied on boxes of books delivered via the province's Travelling Libraries system.

Joining the Wapiti Regional System

• First Regional System: Choiceland became a permanent branch of the North Central Saskatchewan Regional Library system, which was originally formed in 1950.

• System Renaming: This system was later renamed the Wapiti Regional Library, establishing a cooperative network that serves dozens of municipalities across north-central Saskatchewan. 

• Resource Sharing: Membership allowed local residents access to an interconnected, single-card system across the province via the Saskatchewan Information Library Services Consortium. 

Location and Present Day

• Current Facility: The library operates from its physical building located at 116 1st Street East in Choiceland. 

• Historic Neighbors: It sits directly adjacent to the Choiceland Historical Museum, which documents early homesteader life in the region. 

• Community Hub: Today, the branch continues to provide books, digital media resources, community story hours, and free internet access to local patrons.
