Canada Post

The Canada Post Outlet is open M-F 9:00-5:00, Post box holders can check mail anytime during the above store hours, and receive parcels, but sending parcels is usually not allowed on weekends. Box keys are no longer allowed to be given out. A key will be provided to you to get one cut. They cut mail keys at the Co-Op Corner

To mail letters there is a Canada Post box located directly in front of the store.  

To get a Mailbox assigned there is no cost, just go see our Postmaster, Edna Toth at the post office during normal hours to get one assigned

Inbound mail usually arrives at 11:00am to be sorted, and is Picked up to be taken to PA for outbound around 2:00-ish.

Co-Op Ag/Convience Store (Choiceland Corner) 

The commonly refered to as the Choiceland Corner, or just "the corner" by locals, Provides full service fuel, diesel, propane, convience, liquor, fishing, AG, and hardware store products.

Full Liquor store, with Walk-in Beer and Spirits Cooler for ice cold beverages! Extremely well stocked. Liquor store hours are from 9:00-9:00pm Daily! 

Snacks and Drinks:  A full assortiment of snacks, candy, sandwiches, beef jerkey, chips, cold drinks, slushies, milkshakes, fresh coop coffee with full coffee bar, hot dogs and taquitos from 11-Close.

Fishing: A full fishing & camping section with Rods, Tackel, Frozen Bait, hooks, nets, boots, gloves, flash lights, etc.

You can get auto batteries, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, rope and chain, cleaning supplies, jackets and work wear, High Vis huntingn vests, Oil in 25L buckets, Hose Repairs. It's a very well stocked stop for locals and thoes on the way camping or fishing!

History

The Choiceland Co-op Corner Store—formally operated; today known as the Lake Country Co-op Convenience Store & Gas Bar—is a highway retail hub located at the critical junction of Highway 6 and Highway 55. Its history is deeply intertwined with the development of local agricultural transportation, transitioning from a basic fuel asset for pioneer farmers into a modernized commercial pit stop, with a full service liquor store, and modernized convience and shopping.

Agricultural Roots (1936–1960s)The Pioneer Association: Following the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway track, the Choiceland Consumer Co-operative Association was officially incorporated in 1936 with just 55 initial members. 

Early Fuel Services: Long before it became a modernized corner store, this specific branch operated primarily to secure affordable petroleum, bulk fuel, and basic hardware for local farmers trying to survive the tail end of the Great Depression.

Growth Under Pineland Co-op (1960s–2010s)

• Regional Consolidation: In the late 1960s, the Choiceland infrastructure amalgamated into the Pineland Co-op network. This shift allowed the location to expand from basic bulk agricultural storage into commercial consumer services. [1, 2]

• The Highway 6 & 55 Development: As local traffic increased along northern Saskatchewan's major corridors, the Co-op expanded its footprint southward from historical Railway Avenue toward the highway junction. It evolved into a dedicated "Corner Store" hub by combining a commercial Cardlock petroleum station with an Agro Centre and a retail convenience store. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Modernization and Lake Country Co-op (2020–Present)

• The 2020 Amalgamation: On September 1, 2020, Pineland Co-op officially merged into the massive Lake Country Co-op system.

• The Modern Corner Store: Today, the facility operates 7 days a week as a hybrid retail site. It features high-speed commercial fuel bays, exceptionally clean highway rest facilities, an ATM, propane exchanges, and a fully stocked convenience store serving commuters, transport truck drivers, and local residents.
