The brokerage opened in 1950 amidst a localized boom in the 1940s and 1950s, when various agricultural, automotive, and commercial services expanded to support Choiceland's developing farming industry.

Local Ownership: 

Since its inception, the business has operated as a 100% locally owned and operated independent entity. It serves residents directly from its office at 208 Railway Avenue West or through in-home visits.

Corporate Structure: Legally, the brokerage operates under 606530 Saskatchewan Ltd., and over the decades, it has maintained partnerships with provincial insurance networks like the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) and Germania Mutual Insurance. and Saskatchewan General Insurance (SGI) Today, Choiceland insurance is Locally owned and operated by long time residents Jon & Christine Wadden, who purchased the business from Susan and Blaire Temple. 

Evolution of Services

Over its 75+ year history, Choiceland Insurance has evolved from providing basic agricultural coverage into a diversified, multi-line insurance provider. 

Today, its core historical offerings include:

General Insurance: Personal home, automobile, commercial property, and specialized agro/crop hail insurance tailored to the Saskatchewan Prairies.

Provincial Registrations: A core component of its local utility is serving as a full-service Motor License Issuer. This allows the business to process driver's licenses, license plates, Saskatchewan photo IDs, and vehicle permits.

Administrative Services: The firm expanded to offer travel insurance, vehicle title transfers, notary public, and Commissioner for Oaths services in office.
