The Sundown Saloon is a long-standing hospitality staple in town, located at 104 Railway Avenue, which serves as the historical commercial hub, the once grocery store, Choice Grocers, prior to becoming the Sundown Saloon, and now The Torch River Tavern - Sundown Saloon; under new ownership in '05 

The Eras of Ownership

• The "Sly and Dorothy" Era: For many years, the saloon was operated by a popular local couple, Wesley "Sly" and Dorothy. They built the bar's identity as a beloved community gathering spot known for its comfortable atmosphere, Friday night steak nights, FAMOUS pizza, and classic pub fare with cold drinks and VLT's. • The Torch River Tavern Era: In February 2025, the business transitioned to new ownership when Doug and Cheri Kosowan purchased the establishment. Following the takeover, it was rebranded as the Torch River Tavern - Sundown Saloon, operating as a fully licensed family dining restaurant and tavern equipped with a patio, VLTs, Draft Beer, massive TV's and an expanded food and beverage menu, while still keeping off-sale services, and Dorthy's Famour pizza dough. 

The Tavern runs daily food specials M-F 11:00pm until 2:00p, Our FB WUC group posts the daily specials on our Facebook page at 10:30 every morning Mon thru Saturday. (The cafe has specials on Saturdays) 

In 2005/2006 Cheri completed renovations and the Tavern and greatly expanded the kitchen, menu, and beverage offerings. introducing ice cold draft beer to their beverage room offerings. The menu now includes larger portions, more options and cheaper prices! The VLT room has been re-arranged for a more comfortable atmosphere, there is a private meeting/dinning room in the front west side. The pool table has been relocated to the front of the bar in a better spot, and IT'S FREE!
